White Rice Browned

Directions

1Melt butter in a large frying pan. Add rice. Cook over very low heat, stirring often until rice is golden brown.

2Place in a 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle on seasonings.

3When ready to bake, add consomme, water and nuts. Mix gently.

4Cover and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do not stir.

1/2 cup butter

2 cups white rice

2 teaspoons salt

pepper

2 cans beef consomme

2 cups water

1/2 cup blanched almonds, chopped
