Scalloped Mushrooms

Directions

1Place about a third of the mushrooms in a buttered 2-quart baking dish; cover with about a third of the bread crumbs, and drizzle about a third of the butter over the crumbs. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

2Repeat, using another third of the mushrooms, crumbs, and butter; add salt and pepper.

3For the top layer, cover with remaining mushrooms; sprinkle them with salt and pepper, and pour wine over all.

4Cover and bake in a 325 oven for about 35 minutes.

5Mix remaining butter and crumbs, and spoon over mushrooms.

6Bake, uncovered, 10 more minutes, or until crumbs are toasted.

1 1/2 pounds fresh mushrooms, sliced

3 cups fresh French bread crumbs

3/4 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup white wine
