Directions

1Scald milk. Dissolve salt and sugar in scalded milk. Cool to between 100 and 110 degrees.

2Mix yeast, water and 1 teaspoon of sugar together. Let stand for about 5 minutes.

3Add 4 cups of flour to cooled milk. Beat with mixer and then add yeast mixture, shortening and eggs.

4With large spoon or dough hook mix in 4 more cups of flour. Put remaining flour on table and knead into dough. It will be soft.

5Let dough rise until double. Punch down and make into desired rolls. Let rise again until doubled.

6Bake in a 425 degree oven for about 13- 15 minutes.

1 cup water (115 degees)

2 cups scalded milk

3 teaspoons salt

3/4 cup sugar

2/3 cup shortening

2 large eggs

9 1/2 cups flour
