Burgandy Stew

A stew fit for company.

  • Cook: 2 hrs

Directions

1Dust beef with flour and brown in bacon drippings.

2Add beef broth, wine, parsley, garlic & thyme.

3Pour in a two quart casserole, cover. Bake at 350 for one hour.

4Add potatoes, onions and carrots. Bake another hour.

5Brown mushrooms in butter.

6To serve, sprinkle casserole with bacon and mushrooms.

This works well in the crock pot.

Ingredients

2 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup burgandy

1 clove garlic, minced

1 pound lean stew meat

1 can beef broth

1 teaspoon thyme

2 teaspoons parsley

2 potatoes, peeled and quartered

3 carrots, chunked

1 pound small onions

1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced

2 tablespoons butter
