Sour Cream Pound Cake

Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add egg yolks one at a time beating well after each addition.

3Add vanilla.

4Add flour and sour cream alternately to creamed butter mixture. Mix well.

5Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold beaten egg whites into cake batter.

6Pour batter into a large well greased and floured tube pan or a 12 cup bundt pan or 2 loaf pans.

7Bake at 300 for 1 1/2 hours.

8Remove from pan immediately. Cool.

Freezes well.

1 cup butter

3 cups sugar, sifted 3 times

3 cups flour, sifted 3 times

1 tablespoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

6 eggs, separated

1 cup sour cream
