Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Directions

1Brown meat in a large skillet or Dutch oven.

2In 3 or 4 quart crock pot combine browned been and all remaining ingredients.

3Mix well.

4Cover and cook on low setting for 9 to 10 hours or until beef and vegetables are tender.

Penne Rigate can be substituted for the potatoes. Add one cup 30 minutes before serving.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon oil

1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat, cubed

4 medium carrots, sliced

3 medium red potatoes

1 1/2 cups frozen pearl onions

1 stalk celery, cut 1 inch thick

3 cups vegetable juice cocktail

1 teaspoon beef bouillon

3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
