Pear Clafouti

Directions

1Preheat oven to 325.

2Generously butter a 10 inch glass pie dish.

3Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a heavy large skillet over medium high heat.

4Add pears and saute until soft and beginning to brown, about 8 minutes.

5Cool pears in skillet.

6Blend eggs and next 7 ingredients in blender until batter is smooth.

7Add remaining 4 tablespoons of butter and blend to combine.

8Arrange pears in prepared dish.

9Pour batter over all.

10Bake clafouti until set and puffed and brown on top, about 55 minutes.

11Cool at least 15 minutes.

12Serve warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 Anjou pears (1 3/4 pounds), peeled and sliced

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup sugar

6 tablespoons flour

2 tablespoons brandy

1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt
