Directions

1Brown ribs in a frying pan; remove and put in slow cooker. In same pan, brown steak and onions; place in slow cooker. Add consomme, beer, wine and broth. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients and cook on low 7-8 hours. At serving time, remove meat from ribs; discard bones. Serve with dollop of sour cream and grated cheese.

Ingredients

4 pounds country style pork ribs

1 1/2 pounds ground round

3 medium onion, chopped

2 cans beef consomme

1 can beer

1 cup red wine

2 cans whole tomato

1 7 oz can green chilies

1/4 cup chili powder

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon leaf oregano

2 cloves garlic

3 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

2 cans kidney beans

2 cans pinto beans
